Short Stories
In addition to writing novels, I also enjoy writing short stories in between projects, or as a short break from my longer series. Here are a few of the stories you can read for free. Most have been written as contest entries or were submissions to anthologies.

A Winter Sky
After years of relentless fighting, a man nearing the end of his life recounts his journey with his commander and lifelong friend, questioning the cost of their fight for freedom. As truths are revealed, a seed of hope is sown for what lies ahead.
Genre: Science Fantasy, Apocalyptic, Animelit

Standalone? Yes
Originally published in the anthology Ganbatte! The Ties that Bind Us, an #animelit anthology that benefited anime charities. As a limited anthology, it is now out of print.
Solus Vaiyene
In search of a mysterious blue light, Shenrae, Syrane, and Tori set out to explore the cave in Vaiyene's high mountains. Rumored to be the place of a lost child, the caves seem tame enough, but as they head deeper into the tunnels, the three friends soon find they're in for more than they bargained for. Filled with adventure, thrills, and a touch of mischief, this short story captures a moment between friends with a sense of wonder and times past.
Genre: Fantasy

Standalone? Yes. This story can be read as a standalone, but features characters from The Shadow's Creed Saga series.
Yarn
Beneath the earth, puppets dwell, carrying out their daily task of coloring pages with mysterious shards of coal. But one puppet, weary of the endless repetition, begins to question the purpose of it all. Driven by an insatiable curiosity, he sets out on a daring journey to confront The Scientist, determined to uncover the truth behind their existence.
